Datacard card issuing systems now equipped with single step colour printing capability enabling simpler, faster turn around of colour photographic identity cards
Single Step Colour Card Printing Up To 900 Cards Per Hour
Datacard Group has announced a new single-step colour printing technology available for the Datacard MX1000 and Datacard MX2000 card issuance systems – providing financial institutions, government organizations and other card issuers an economical way to print high-quality colour  images.

The new single-step colour printing technology is ideal for card issuers with mid-volume card programs that need to print photos, logos and other colour images on identification or financial cards. This technology utilizes dye diffusion thermal transfer (D2T2) technology to print high-quality 300dpi card images and photos directly on the card at speeds up to 900 cards per hour.

“By introducing this new single-step colour printing technology to our broad portfolio of Datacard Group’s printing solutions, mid-volume card issuers can now easily print continuous-tone colour photos and images directly on the card, which is new to the MX1000 and MX2000 card issuance systems,”  said Russell St John, senior vice present of global marketing for Datacard Group. “This technology provides high-quality, near edge-to-edge print coverage in a compact size, and offers enhanced system performance at a cost effective price.”

Datacard Group offers an integrated issuance management platform combining hardware, software, supplies and consulting into a secure, scalable solution, enabling Secure Issuance Anywhere. Financial institutions, government agencies and other organizations now have the flexibility to issue secure cards and credentials anytime, anywhere.
