Single Sign-On For WebEx Meeting Centre

Ping Identity : 19 August, 2010  (Application Story)
PingFederate SaaS Connector enables improved security for Cisco's WebEx Meeting Centre through single sign-on capabilities
Ping Identity has announced general availability of its PingFederate SaaS Connector for Cisco WebEx. The fourth in a series of SaaS Connectors, the WebEx SaaS Connector works with PingFederate to provide quick connection and provisioning capabilities for WebEx Meeting Centre.

"More than 7 million people use Cisco WebEx services each month to communicate and collaborate online," said Ping Identity CTO Patrick Harding. "This translates to millions of end user passwords and accounts that must be managed, exposing IT and business departments to unnecessary risk and cost. Ping solves this with Single Sign-On (SSO) access and automated account provisioning capabilities that integrate easily into any environment."

The WebEx SaaS Connector works with PingFederate to speed the user set up process for WebEx Meeting Centre by automatically creating user accounts from the corporate directory. Users can then sign on once at their primary network access point and then seamlessly access WebEx and other Cloud applications without requiring additional passwords. Because PingFederate automatically synchronizes corporate directory changes with the WebEx Directory, WebEx Meeting Centre access is automatically deactivated as users leave the company.

With this new product installed, a Quick Connection template in PingFederate's administrative console hides the complexity of creating a SAML connection to WebEx Meeting Centre by pre-populating WebEx-required attributes from static configuration data and metadata.

Trusted by more than 35,000 organizations worldwide, Cisco WebEx Meeting Centre helps users share ideas with anyone, anywhere. Meeting Centre allows users to share documents, presentations and applications; meet from PC, Mac or smartphone; take advantage of integrated voice conferencing; record meetings; and share streaming video from up to six webcams.

Used by hundreds of customers worldwide including more than 30 of the Fortune 100 and 175 SaaS and BPO Providers, PingFederate delivers Internet SSO and Internet User Account Management. The only vendor-independent software of its kind, PingFederate helps increase SaaS user adoption and productivity, saves administrative time and cost, and strengthens security. PingFederate boasts a 98 percent satisfaction rate among users, and 66 percent say they completed their first implementation in two weeks or less. PingFederate SaaS Connectors are available for Google Apps, Salesforce, WebEx and Workday.
