Signify recruits sales and marketing manager

Signify : 25 August, 2009  (Company News)
Provider of two-factor authentication services focuses on business development with the recruitment of marketing professional to its management team
Gerard Kerrigan has been appointed sales and marketing manager at UK-based Signify, a specialist vendor of secure two-factor authentication hosted services. Kerrigan, who brings with him experience from companies such as SecureTest and IronPort, will be focusing on developing Signify's partner channel to deliver (2FA) hosted services and strengthening the company's position as a major player in the SaaS market.

Kerrigan's arrival is the latest in a series of new appointments at Signify that continues to buck the economic trend with year on year growth of 40%.

Kerrigan was previously sales director at SecureTest, growing revenues by over 100% and chosen to lead the combined services team after acquisition by NCC Group. Prior to that, he built up a channel from scratch at US start up Ironport, taking revenues from zero to several million pounds in just two years. Kerrigan also grew the revenues of NASA spin-off Rainfinity by over 100% and was appointed Managing Director for Europe. He also worked in the channel for Integralis, supporting the field sales teams and channel partners in the promotion of their Security Managed Services business.

"We are delighted to welcome Gerard on board," said Dave Abraham, CEO at Signify. "His extensive experience in the security market and working with the UK channel will be invaluable as we further develop our reseller network. With the growth in remote and home working, the demand for strong two-factor authentication to replace basic passwords to access computer systems and sensitive data is a major priority."

"While many vendors are just starting to enter the SaaS market, Signify has been offering simple and affordable, fully-hosted services for many years that avoid up-front capital investment and provide rapid ROI," said Kerrigan. "This is a compelling proposition for resellers and allows them to take advantage of the growing (2FA) market without the need to deploy and support complex hardware and software systems."

Headquartered in Cambridge, UK, Signify provides secure hosted authentication services to corporate and public sector customers to provide authorised access to sensitive information and systems. Signify makes it easy to replace weak, static passwords with strong two-factor authentication including tokens, mobile phones and PDAs.
