SightSensor Camera Picks Up Reader Award

SightLogix : 03 February, 2011  (New Product)
Readers of Security Products have selected SightLogix' SightSensor camera for low error-rate detection of security events in a variety of weather conditions
Selections for the 2010 Security Products Readers’ Choice Awards have been announced by Security Products Magazine and the SightLogix SightSensor intelligent video camera has been named as an Award Winner. The Readers’ Choice Award recipients represent products deemed to be most interesting and relevant as voted on throughout the year by the magazine’s readers.

“It’s a privilege to have our SightSensor recognized by Security Products readers as the most relevant and interesting camera offering,” said John Romanowich, SightLogix President and CEO. “The SightSensor was developed to fill a market need for accurate and cost-effective outdoor security solutions. Awards such as this validate our offering as the product of choice for meeting these challenges.”

Long and wide-range outdoor SightSensors provide a high probability of detection with low nuisance alarm rates while lowering overall security costs, and can operate in all weather and climate conditions, including rain, snow, humidity, sand and temperature extremes. Each SightSensor camera incorporates either a visible or a thermal imager, electronic stabilization, on-board image processing, video analytics software, and geospatial target tracking, all sealed inside a rugged NEMA 4X nitrogen-purged housing.

SightSensor cameras are registered to the scene with GPS coordinates so they can accurately determine target size, bearing, and speed in order to filter out small animals and blowing debris, reducing nuisance alarms. SightLogix systems also use geo-registration to display the coordinates of detected targets onto a sitemap for situational awareness, and to steer PTZ cameras to automatically zoom and track detected objects.

By providing a high level of imaging processing, each SightSensor camera can cover wider areas or greater distances; as much as three times the coverage area of other surveillance cameras. This means that SightLogix systems require fewer cameras, reducing the supporting infrastructure (poles, trenching, networking, power, etc.) and associated costs. As a result, SightSensor cameras lower installation, infrastructure and overall project costs by one-third versus alternatives.
