Webroot Software : 14 January, 2010  (Company News)
Internet security company recruits Chief Marketing Officer and Worldwide Service and Support VP to drive growth in global markets
Webroot, an Internet security provider for the consumer, enterprise and SME markets, has announced two new leadership positions created to elevate the company's visibility and commitment to customers worldwide. Chris Benham has been appointed chief marketing officer and Kenton Sieckman has joined as vice president of worldwide service and support.

"Chris and Kenton both bring to Webroot a level of expertise that will benefit us tremendously as we build a truly world-class organisation," said Dick Williams, president and CEO, Webroot. "Together, Chris and Kenton have a proven track record for building corporate brands and ensuring companies deliver on their brand promise to customers. I am pleased to have them on board as we lay the foundation for leadership in delivering security as a service to consumers and businesses."

As the first chief marketing officer at Webroot, Benham will develop and execute a strategy for building the company's brand globally through marketing and communications. A 20-year technology marketing veteran, Benham's prior experience includes over a decade in marketing leadership positions at Symantec, where he helped create the company's yellow corporate identity. He also managed the Norton and Symantec brands, helping to establish both as the number one brands in their respective categories. Benham was also vice president of Corporate Marketing at Entercept and Wyse Technologies, and also held marketing positions at Sun Microsystems and Tandem Computers.

Sieckman brings to Webroot deep experience in reinvigorating services and support operations for global technology companies. Sieckman has held global management and leadership positions at Computer Associates (CA) and Wily Technology (acquired by CA in 2006), where he built the company's worldwide technical services organization which provided 24-hour customer support in over 20 countries. Sieckman also managed field marketing and sales operations for Oracle's North American technology business, and the systems engineering organization of BEA Systems, Inc., in the Americas, prior to the company's acquisition by Oracle.

Benham and Sieckman are based in Webroot's Boulder, Colorado headquarters.
