Aware that many companies find it difficult to get lone workers together in large groups for face-to-face training, and time constraints often meaning that some workers are unable to complete their training, the UK’s leading lone worker solutions provider, Connexion2, has launched a series of three Self-Teach Workbooks. ‘Covering Lone Worker Safety’, ‘Managing Conflict in the Workplace Through Communication’ and ‘Managing Conflict in the Workplace through Personal Awareness’, the Workbooks enable an organisation to educate lone workers whilst retaining control and flexibility.
Extremely cost effective, the Self-Teach Workbooks allow a simple rollout to staff and are easily co-ordinated for all group sizes. They enable Lone Worker Managers to implement and co-ordinate training without incurring additional costs or time lost to the organisation and for employees to undertake training in their own time. For larger numbers of workers, the Self-Teach Workbooks can also be branded in line with a company’s own corporate communications requirements and can also be designed to be sector or industry specific.
The Self-Teach Workbooks are structured to provide Q&A throughout and at the end there is a test with a sign-off form so the worker and manager can confirm completion. All Workbooks take approximately an hour to complete, and can be undertaken as and when time permits. At the end, the lone worker should have the ability to identify potential risks to themselves or others within their working environment and to competently and confidently implement strategies to mitigate those risks.
The Workbooks are designed to provide comprehensive support in respect of all aspects of lone worker protection, which is not reliant on the implementation of technology alone.
