Security Operators Recognised In National Awards

Axis Security : 10 January, 2011  (Company News)
Security Officers at Axis Security have been recognised by the company at the annual National Security Awards held recently
Axis Security, the nationwide manned guarding and electronic security business, has celebrated the hard work and excellence of its staff with its third annual National Security Awards.

John Fitzpatrick, Operations Director and Richard Jemson, National Operations Director presented the awards, which were hosted at the RAC Club in London. The awards were split into three categories, with each winner being selected by both their respective customers and the Axis Security account management team.

The Team of the Year award went to Richmond Riverside Development, in Surrey, where five officers oversee the security for a resident’s block, retail outlets and commercial tenants in the busy riverfront at Richmond Bridge. John Fitzpatrick says of the team: “They are always eager to assist when needed, in addition to being consistently courteous and willing to offer advice.”

The award for Security Officer of the Year was presented to Imran Chaudary, the Security Manager for Ealing and West London NHS Trusts. Overseeing a team of 21 officers and looking after two NHS Trusts, Imran has played a vital role in the security successes at the Trust, which saw a 20 per cent reduction in crimes for 2010.

The final award – National Team of the Year – was given to the Manchester NHS team, which looks after a wide range of buildings that fall under the NHS’ portfolio in Manchester.

With constant strains on NHS funding, the team have had to adapt to the changing requirements while still providing a professional service, according to Richard Jemson: “There have been difficult changes to the provisions but through the commitment, effort and enthusiasm of the team, all the buildings were opened on time, remotely monitored and staff and members of the public were always secured and safe,” he says.

“The team have shown the level of excellence that Axis Security embodies.”

Jonathan Levine, Group Managing Director of Axis Security, praised all of the officers for their hard work and continued customer support: “Our teams do a difficult job under similarly challenging circumstances,” he says. “It is right that these efforts are recognised and rewarded and my congratulations go to them all.”
