Security for snowed-in home workers

BeCrypt : 04 February, 2009  (New Product)
BeCrypt Trusted Client enables more workers to be able to operate from remote locations including their own homes with improved security without loss of productivity
BeCrypt has stated that many companies could have been better prepared for the current poor weather conditions. Organisations could avoid loss of productivity when staff can't get into the office by implementing the right kind of innovative technology. Even staff that have not been issued with a company laptop or PDA could have been safely and productively working from home. Had staff been issued with a low cost USB device carrying a BeCrypt Trusted Client they would have had a secure way to access their corporate network from an unmanaged PC, such as a home PC. This innovative technology gives staff access to email and corporate applications, files and documents, in a safe and secure environment which prevents data loss or cross contamination from malicious programs.

Bernard Parsons, CEO at BeCrypt commented, "The recent heavy snowfalls have not only highlighted the business continuity issues that many businesses face when 20% of the UK's working population can't get into the office, but it also shows the gap in many organisations' data security and mobile working arrangements. This can be remedied to a great extent by using the right kind of low-cost, secure mobile working technology."

Simply by inserting a BeCrypt Trusted Client device into a USB port and re-booting, a secure environment is launched, providing user interface, web browser, email access and standalone applications. Unlike other solutions, Trusted Client does not access the host hard drive, only the PC's memory and processor are used. Any data that is downloaded is automatically encrypted to the device and because it's delivered on a USB stick it is highly portable and low cost.
