Lincoln Security has been tasked with upgrading Anglian Waters security portfolio to ensure it meets ever stringent government legislations and specifications regarding the security and safety of their assets.
The Security and Emergency Measures Direction (SEMD) highlights a legal framework, which water companies in England and Wales must follow in order to plan and prepare for Water and Sewerage incidents and to improve the resilience of their sites.
Regular reviews and updates of security measures at Anglian Water sites is a key area of business continuity for the utility firm - Lincoln Security has been enabling and supporting these measures for nearly three decades.
The current project with Anglian Water involves installing and replacing locks, doors and door maintenance for over 5,650 waste water sites across four sizable areas of the UK covered by Anglian Water; including The Humber, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex & Colchester in the South East.
Julie Froggatt, Installation Director at Lincoln Security said “We have worked with Anglian Water for over 25 years. Last year we assembled and installed a custom-built, master key suite for all Anglian Water clean water sites over the 11 areas of the Anglian regions...”
“…The size of this recent project meant that we had to be flexible in order to meet the client’s demands. We have invested in new software and state-of-the-art PDA technology to help deliver the job, as well as employing two extra members of staff alongside redeploying existing employees; helping with the overall management of the project.”
Lincoln Security employed the services of Edinburgh based computer firm Route Monkey who have developed bespoke scheduling and routing software for the company, further enabling the security specialists to monitor the progress of the project over individual sites in real time.
Julie also added “Although this software developed is bespoke to the Anglian Water project, it can be expanded and adapted for other customers and we are currently planning installation of cylinders for a gas utility company across 1,000 sites in Cornwall & Devon…” |
