Secure VPN client software for Watchguard Technologies.

NCP Engineering : 15 November, 2007  (Application Story)
NCP Engineering enters alliance with Watchguard Technologies to provide encryption, authentication and other secure VPN client software services.
NCP Engineering and Watchguard Technologies have formed a strategic OEM alliance. Under their agreement, NCP will supply Watchguard with VPN client software to replace the current 'Mobile User VPN' client.

"We are very excited to be teaming with NCP in providing our customers with the most robust, highly secure security solutions available today," said Eric Aarrestad, Vice President of Marketing at WatchGuard. "Network security is a dynamic and ever-evolving challenge for businesses. NCP's flexibility, speed to market and industry expertise gives WatchGuard an ideal supplier to address these challenges and bring cutting edge security solutions to market in unprecedented speed."

NCP Secure Client is a communication package designed for universal application in any remote access VPN environment. It offers comprehensive security functions: IPSec tunnelling, encryption using AES or 3-DES, expanded authentification (Xauth, EAP), support for digital certificates and hardware tokens, an integrated stateful inspection firewall with situation-dependent firewall rules and 'friendly net detection' for automatic recognition of secure and non-secure networks. The client also has an automatic, secure WLAN log-in while the matching profile for the current WLAN is activated in the background, eg at the hotspot.

'NCP already supports numerous OEM partnerships with leading European manufacturers of VPN components. Their cooperation with Watchguard underlines NCP's claim internationally as well to a leading position in the area of VPN technology,' comments Peter Soell, Managing Director of NCP engineering.
