Modern Security Solutions has enhanced the functionality of the AFIANT system, one of the UK's leading Network Video recorders, with a new, integrated mobile phone/PDA application. The application delivers real-time, live video and audio playback to a standard 3G mobile or PDA and enables users to monitor activity without requiring a PC, 24 hours a day, regardless of location. All AFIANT customers with a customer care support package can be remotely upgraded for free.
If motion is detected during predetermined hours alerts are automatically sent to authorised mobile phone or PDA users. Users can select individual recorders and cameras with full pan, tilt and zoom functionality. Uniquely, the AFIANT PDA application supports both network and analogue cameras.
According to Andrew Jones, managing director of Modern Security Solutions: "This new mobile application is an important enhancement for AFIANT users that will significantly enhance their ability to monitor installed CCTV security systems. It can also be used to control lights, gates, doors and security barriers."
This new powerful solution also has many applications for the police, local authorities, retail and education. For example, it will enhance town centre CCTV networks by enabling operators to send video of incidents direct to mobile phones carried by security personnel or the police.
Modern Security Solutions is also looking to license the software to other manufacturers of recording products and working with Internet Service Providers (ISP's) to provide a valuable additional service offering for their customers.
