Salto wins Canadian university electronic access contract.

Salto Systems : 07 March, 2008  (Company News)
Salto Systems is to become the sole provider of electronic access control equipment to the University of British Columbia - Okanagan.
Situated in one of the most scenic regions in Canada, UBC Okanagan opened in September 2005 as a distinctive, small university campus. With a current student population of 4,864 and a goal of enrolling 7,500 students by 2009, UBC Okanagan is growing to serve the needs of the region and increase access to the internationally recognised UBC degree.

Garry Appleton, UBCO's Security Manager, said: "In these times of security measures being regularly tested around North America, our university wants to ensure that a safe and secure environment is provided for our staff to work in and our students to learn in.

So in order to update our security the university was in the market for an Internet based or compatible access control system that offered both flexibility and the ability to cover large multiple sites seamlessly using one software package. Salsto covered all the bases without my staff having to be IT trained personal."

Amir Zouak, Vice President Salto (Canada), commented: "We are thrilled to have won this prestigious order from UBC Okanagan. The university has signed a 10 year commitment to Salto and will start installing our state-of-the-art electronic access control technology into all of their new buildings first then add all the existing buildings across campus over the next several budget years. This is a major project for Salto Canada and we're looking forward to the long term working relationship with Garry and his team."
