Sales VP hired at Avecto

Privilege Guard supplier hires senior sales professional to drive expansion in the Americas
Avecto has announced the appointment of seasoned industry executive Joe L'Italien as Vice President of Sales of the Americas and the opening of a new office in Boston, Massachusetts.

'The fact that, even in these tough economic conditions, Avecto's business continues to grow rapidly, demonstrates the tremendous cost savings and improved security of implementing least privilege with Avecto Privilege Guard,' said Tony Bolland, CEO of Avecto. 'Joe L'Italien's extensive operations and sales leadership experience, and his proven track record in building successful software companies, will help speed customer adoption in the Americas."
Possessing over twenty years experience with enterprise software companies in both the domestic and international markets focusing on sales and channel development, L'Italien is ideally suited to establishing a strong operations and sales base for Avecto in the Americas. He was recently the VP of Worldwide Sales for BeyondTrust and prior to that he was VP of Sales for DesktopStandard where he oversaw average annual growth rates in excess of 100%, resulting in acquisition by Microsoft. He was also a founding member of NetManage and ftp Software, both pioneering internet companies, and has been a driving force for sales into Fortune 500, Global 2000 and countless mid-sized companies.

During his tenure at NetManage, the company grew from zero to $125 million in annual sales, earning the top position in Business Week's fastest growing US company two years in a row.
