Rugged outdoor PTZ dome camera range from Honeywell

Honeywell Systems Group : 09 January, 2009  (New Product)
ACUIX range of speed dome cameras from Honeywell come with vandal and weather resistant housing for use in extreme environments
Rugged outdoor PTZ dome camera range from Honeywell
Honeywell has introduced the new ACUIX rugged high-performance pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) speed Dome camera range that features four integrated high-resolution, auto-focus camera/optic systems. Optimised for mounting in areas that may be prone to vandalism or extreme weather, the IP66 rated ACUIX rugged housing is made from powder coated die-cast aluminium and the dome coated with silicone making it scratch and abrasion resistant.

The rugged version of ACUIX supports both analogue and digital (IP) video transmissions and incorporates Honeywell's proprietary Intellibus protocol for high-speed performance and effortless upgrades. Intellibus allows camera settings such as labels, presets, tours, and privacy zones to be uploaded to a new camera/optics package if required, affording the ultimate protection of the dome's settings. Because Intellibus allows users to remotely upload firmware to a single dome - or an unlimited number of user-selected domes, ACUIX offers major time savings for dealers and end users.

"Incorporating the same innovative features of the existing ACUIX Series, this rugged version supports remote storage of camera data and remote firmware upgrades. This allows installers to perform set-up and maintenance from their premises, which in turn minimises installation time at the customer site and eliminates complications at the top of a ladder," said Mark Openshaw, product manager, Honeywell. "Customers and installers alike will appreciate the robustness, remarkable performance and ease of use of this rugged ACUIX dome."

The series includes a True Day/Night model with a 35X zoom featuring Wide Dynamic Range and Electronic Image Stabilisation for superior images that overcome unstable mounting and difficult lighting conditions.
