RSA certification for R-Series platform

Intelliden : 13 November, 2008  (New Product)
R-Series platform from Intelliden certified by RSA as interoperable with SecurID two-factor authentication system
Intelliden has announced that RSA, The Security Division of EMC, has certified that Intelliden's R-Series platform is technically interoperable with the RSA SecurID two-factor authentication system, and Intelliden has joined the RSA Secured Partner Program. This new technology partnership is designed to help bolster network data security for joint customers by preventing unauthorized access to critical network configuration data.

Intelliden's network automation solutions offer unparalleled levels of support for the industry's largest and most transaction-intensive network environments - including some of the world's most complex networks. As part of its existing security management approach, Intelliden enables customers to enforce role-based access to control who can access which parts of the network and perform specific configuration changes on those devices. Intelliden's certified interoperability with the RSA SecurID two-factor authentication system is engineered to provide an additional layer of protection, elevating security for customers even further.

The RSA SecurID system is as simple to use as entering a password, but significantly more secure. Used in conjunction with RSA® Authentication Manager software, an RSA SecurID hardware or software authenticator functions like an ATM card for a company network, requiring users to identify themselves with two unique factors — something they know (a password or PIN), and something they have (e.g. an RSA SecurID token) — before they are granted access to secure business information.

"Securing device configuration information while it travels over networks and across IT domains is paramount," said Alan McKee, vice president of engineering. "Our RSA Secured certification demonstrates Intelliden's continued commitment to ensuring the highest levels of security for our customers, and further enhances our security management. Intelliden's software is deployed in mission critical environments, which by their very nature must adhere to the highest standards of security. Many of our customers have already standardized on RSA SecurID technology, which makes the Intelliden integration a natural extension of their overarching corporate security infrastructure."

"We are pleased that Intelliden has achieved interoperability between RSA SecurID technology and their R-Series platform as it is more critical than ever for our customers to increase the security and integrity of their valuable information," said D J Long, Senior Director, Corporate Development at RSA. "Our organizations are committed to mitigating risk to sensitive information throughout its lifecycle to ensure that it is always an asset and not a liability."

Purpose built for large, complex and dynamic IP networks, the R-Series platform provides the foundation for Intelliden's solutions for automating network discovery, configuration management, provisioning and compliance. The R-Series platform incorporates Intelliden's revolutionary patented technology and standards-based architecture. It serves as an abstraction layer for network devices and provides real-time state awareness for accurate first-time, every time network changes.
