RFID based tracking transponder to be shown at RFID World 2008

KSW Microtec : 04 September, 2008  (New Product)
Robust VarioSens label with temperature monitoring sensor and RFID chip for improved tracking to be showcased at the RFID World 2008 exhibition
KSW Microtec will once again be highlighting innovative products for RFID track and trace applications at RFID World 2008 from September 8-10 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Among the highlights at KSW's stand will be the enhanced and optimized KSW RFID-based VarioSens label with integrated temperature sensor to enable temperature monitoring, on display for the first time.

'We are proud of the great track record already achieved by VarioSens,' says Niels Bauer, Business Segment Manager for Asset Management at KSW Microtec. 'Its robust nature meets the highest mechanical specifications and ensures reusability, making the solution even more cost-effective. Furthermore its secure password protected operation means safety and compliance for any application. In brief, it is proven that our VarioSens label meets the highest standards for environment friendliness and overall cost.'

VarioSens is the industry's first flexible temperature data logger offering fast, safe and transparent transfer of data. All ISO 15693 compliant readers can be used to configure the VarioSens label and read the logged temperature records. The VarioSens RFID chip contains a unique identification number and a configurable read/write memory - allowing users to program customer data, product information and addresses, while simultaneously monitoring temperatures with variable time stamps. This means that the VarioSens label can be used for temperature monitoring as well as for tracking and tracing perishables, pharmaceuticals and other temperature sensitive goods such as fine wines, exclusive foods and beverages and vaccines.

KSW is looking forward to meeting its partners and customers at RFID World, which has already demonstrated its position as the RFID industry's launch pad for innovation and enterprise visibility with more than 110 companies announcing new products, initiatives, applications and advancements in sensors, identification and track and trace solutions.
