Record year for Aladdin's UK operations

Aladdin Knowledge Systems : 11 November, 2008  (Company News)
First nine months of year sees 95% of total year bookings received for data security products
Aladdin Knowledge Systems has announced its UK channel operations have enjoyed its most profitable year since it began operations in the UK in 1993. Within its eToken business alone, Aladdin UK has reached 95% of its 2008 UK sales targets in just 9 months and expects to show an overall increase of eToken sales.

"The spate of data loss incidents that have plagued the UK recently, especially within government, has prompted a massive rise in compliance initiatives for which eToken is particularly well suited," comments Anne Iarchy, UK Sales Director for Enterprise Security at Aladdin, "Our channel partners are active in this space and we have doubled the number of training seminars we offer to meet demand from both the channel and large enterprise customers who are under pressure to secure PCs and Laptops but without having to deploy and integrate separate technology platforms."

Aladdin has also become a supplier to a specialist media encryption vendor, "In the UK, we have a growing relationship with a specialist partner who uses our eToken as a hardware element of its encryption products and solutions." Explains Iarchy, "With our patented USB smartcard technology, and strong APIs, which adhere to industry standards, we enable a smooth integration path for this provider of solutions to several major government agencies."

Arc Technology Distribution Ltd, a key distributor in the UK has consequently grown its sales of Aladdin products by approximately 53% over the last year. As Stuart Reay, Managing Director at ARC Technology added, "Aladdin is pretty unique in the market as the only vendor within the big four able to offer products across content, digital rights and authentication markets. As customers start to rationalise the number of vendors they want to work with, we expect Aladdin channel partners to be well placed to deliver high value added solutions to the market."

The growth of the UK channel has also been augmented by extensive telemarketing and channel support activities including two Gartner hosted events in September and attendance at Infosec 2008. "The increase in sales for our channel partners does not include the new partners that have just recently joined us through the acquisition of Secure Computing's SafeWord product line, but we expect 2009 to be an extremely strong period as we help these new partners integrate Aladdin's eToken and eSafe products into their portfolios."

Iarchy, who was previously at WatchGuard, joined Aladdin UK earlier this year and is one of 5 new staff recruited for the UK operation over the last years including a new pre-sales engineer, inside sales manager, telemarketer and account manager.
