Recognition for digital investigation software

Guidance Software : 23 July, 2008  (New Product)
EnCase computer forensics software from Guidance Software gains high ranking in electronic discovery survey
Guidance Software has announced that the company and its industry-leading EnCase software were given the highest ranking (Top 5 Provider) in the eDiscovery Software Providers Category of Socha-Gelbmann's 2008 Electronic Discovery Survey. Guidance Software was also given the highest ranking by corporations in the survey's Electronic Discovery Service Provider category and noted for its top-ranked collection capabilities. The company also received the highest ranking in several other categories in the report.

The Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery Survey is an independent survey conducted by two independent consultants, George Socha and Tom Gelbmann, and is widely-recognized as being the industry's most comprehensive eDiscovery survey. The survey gathers information from eDiscovery services and software providers, law firms and corporations—using more than 350 qualitative and quantitative factors. Preliminary findings from this year's survey can be found by visiting the EDD Update website. Full rankings will appear in the August issue of Law Technology News and on the Socha Consulting website.

"The 6th Annual Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery Survey was based on an extremely detailed ranking model," said George Socha. "Top 5 Providers represent 'the best of the best', an elite group singled out from a field of over 600 organisations that offer eDiscovery services and software."

"We are extremely pleased that Guidance Software registered so positively again in this year's Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery Survey," said Victor Limongelli, President and CEO of Guidance Software. "These results demonstrate the level of trust that corporate users and service providers put in Guidance Software for their eDiscovery needs."

Earlier this year, Guidance Software received the highest possible* rating in Gartner's MarketScope for E-Discovery and Litigation Support Vendors, 2007.

EnCase eDiscovery has been deployed on more than 2 million desktops, laptops, and servers. The platform on which it runs, EnCase Enterprise, has been deployed on more than 10 million desktops, laptops, and servers and is used by more than 100 of the Fortune 500 and over half of the Fortune 50. Additionally, more than 28,000 copies of EnCase computer forensics software, which is used extensively for eDiscovery preservation, search, and collection, are in use worldwide.
