Radio equipment contract for Dutch forces.

Zenitel : 20 December, 2007  (Application Story)
Emergency services and armed forces in the Netherlands benefit from radio communications network supplied by Zenitel.
Zenitel announces its contract with vts Politie Nederland (vtsPN) for EARS (LARA 2), the European Tender for C2000 TETRA terminals, Non-TETRA equipment, accessories and services. Zenitel was one of seven companies who signed three of the 12 contracts. The other successful companies are: Abiom, Koning en Hartman, KPN, Lumidee / Imtradex, P2000 alarmeringsystemen, and Sepura. Zenitel will deliver the equipment and services for a period of three years, with a possible extension of another two years.

Zenitel has delivered to the LARA (Landelijke Aanbesteding Rand Apparatuur) project in the past and was short listed for supplying all subscriber equipment for use in C2000, the nationwide TETRA network for the public safety and security forces in the Netherlands, in Quarter Two of this year. There is no question about the importance of good working C2000 radio equipment and accessories - all users of the digital radio network depend on its reliability. Today, there are over 80,000 TETRA and non-TETRA terminals in use.

Zenitel won three of the four parcels it applied to vtsPN for. Zenitel's success is based on the confidence of the public safety market in the Zenitel company, together with Zenitel's demonstrated knowledge of TETRA networks, terminals, applications and services. Certainly, some of the companies that signed one or more contracts with vtsPN take benefit from a serious track record in the area of digital radio communications. Moreover they have experience with the needs of the emergency services in The Netherlands.

Awarding the contracts to Zenitel and the other named security companies, vtsPN has ensured continuity and quality of products and services for the coming years.
