Vicon has launched a new, more powerful generation of its popular Kollector recording platforms.

With comprehensive network connectivity, huge storage capabilities and realistic pricing, Vicon believes its new Kollector models can become the recorders of choice for the UK security industry.

The new models, Kollector Force and Kollector Strike, offer real-time 25 frames per second recording per channel across all sixteen local camera inputs and eight IP camera inputs.

In addition to delivering all the popular features of Vicon's ViconNet video management software, the Kollector Force and Kollector Strike are supplied with a host of other advanced features and functions.

* Future-Ready - Force and Strike models support H264 compression
* Full real-time recording at 4CIF/D1 resolution across all channels
* View and control as well as record local and remote IP devices across a network
* True hybrid functionality - Up to eight IP cameras and sixteen local analogue video inputs can be connected to each recorder
* All 24 cameras may be viewed and recorded simultaneously
* Up to 10TB of internal storage
* Configured to use the latest iSCSI technology

As well as full integration with Vicon's new range of MegaPixel cameras, the Kollector Force and Strike are designed for complete compatibility with the ViconNet open platform and are therefore able to also support third party IP and MegaPixel cameras.

The most obvious difference between the two new units is their size. The Kollector Strike is a sleek 1U high (44.45 mm) rack-mount unit whilst the Force is 3U (133.34mm) high.

The Kollector Strike is available with up to 6TB of internal storage whilst the Kollector Force can be supplied with up to 10TB of internal storage, which may if required, be configured in RAID 5 format whilst both models can be supplied with external RAID arrays whenever required.

Both models support lip-synched audio recording, with the Strike having four audio inputs and the Force a full complement of 16 audio inputs. The Strike models all have two NIC cards fitted as standard to facilitate the connection of an iSCSI raid, whereas the Force models require an additional card.
