Q1 Labs Launches Security Intelligence Partner Program

Q1 Labs : 19 January, 2011  (Company News)
Vendor forum for collaboration on security intelligence accelerates deliver of integrated solutions
Q1 Labs has announced its Security Intelligence Partner Program, a rapidly expanding community forum of vendors that have integrated their products with LEEF (Log Event Enhanced Format) or AXIS (Asset Exchange Information Source), Q1 Labs’ open standard formats for log, event and asset information management.

Prior to the development of LEEF and AXIS, vendor collaboration across the security intelligence industry around the exchange of event information has been a challenge, especially with a lack of standards in place. The integrations were inconsistently documented, there was limited testing or certifications, the mapping of events was inconsistent, and event/telemetry updates were slow or non-existent. Previous event exchange formats were silo’d, providing very limited enterprise context and applied only to events, excluding critical asset, configuration and network data.

Q1 Labs’ development of the LEEF and AXIS formats provides vendor partners with a simpler, easy-to-use, and high-speed format for delivering event, asset/vulnerability, configuration management, flow information, and automated updates to the QRadar Security Intelligence Operating System. The Program alleviates the burden of customers having to do the heavy lifting themselves, by taking the natural step toward automation and integrating disparate security products from multiple suppliers.

Vendors that are taking part in the program receive a Q1 Labs software development kit (SDK) to conduct their own testing for integration and certification, receive priority placement in integration testing queue, and designated engineering contacts, making the integration process a joint effort, unlike programs from other vendors.

The Security Intelligence Partner Program from Q1 Labs enables vendors to:

  • Remove integration bottle-necks during customer solution deployments

  • Reduce time to resolution to more rapidly address customers’ needs

  • Simplify product integrations while deepening partnerships with solution providers

  • Increase security intelligence value with shorter time to resolution
