ProxSafe enables improved running costs for BTP.

Deister Electronics (UK) : 28 May, 2007  (Application Story)
London's British Transport Police use proxSafe to help with fleet management, vehicle utilisation and running costs.
With some audit reports being critical of increased vehicle running costs and hire charges, fleet managers in many police, fire and ambulance services are looking at ways in which vehicle utilisation can be improved.

Having the right vehicle in the right place at the right time is one way of reducing cost and improving efficiency, but this will invariably involve authorised personnel having access to vehicle keys on a 24/7 basis. Premises, as well as vehicle security, can then become a major problem. The British Transport Police in Central London was one of the first emergency services to install a proxSafe system and it is now increasingly being specified by public service fleet managers who need to be able to combine safety and security with accessibility and accountability.
