Proximity readers combined with codelock keypad

Videx Security : 24 August, 2007  (New Product)
Latest access control product from Videx Security allows for codelock or proximity access or combination of the two.
The new EX5P from Videx Security combines a codelock system and a proximity access control system to offer a higher level of security. The EX5P keypads are very robust and capable of storing up to 99 access codes, each up to 8 digits long as well as up to 99 fobs or cards. Available in surface or flush configuration, and with a choice of either metal buttons or polycarbonate buttons, EX5P keypads are the latest addition to the company’s coded access range.
All keys on the EX5P keypad are back-lit and are an ideal choice for poorly lit areas.
A variety of housings are available for the keypads including surface plastic , surface metal white, surface metal grey , surface chrome , flush white , flush grey and flush stainless steel .

The keypad can operate one of its two relays by using only a code, only a fob or, for higher security, a combination of both. The keypads also include a bus to allow the keypad to be used as a controller with a remote proximity reader. This is useful for high security applications where the relay needs to be remote from the reader.

Other features include two relay outputs with relay times from 1 – 99 seconds and two push to exit inputs. There is a tamper switch facility, three LEDs and reassurance tones for user interaction. A pip on the number five key is designed to aid people with sight difficulties.
