Perimeter gate locks based on high security cell locks.

Pickersgill-Kaye : 18 April, 2008  (New Product)
Industrial users can now benefit from the high levels of custodial suite security for their perimeter fences and gates with the release of a high technology gate lock from Pickersgill-Kaye.
Preventing unauthorised access to secure sites is a vital requirement for many industries. Leeds-based lock manufacturer Pickersgill-Kaye has announced the launch of a new range of high security gate locks which are reliable and last significantly longer than anything else currently available.

Based on Pickersgill-Kaye's impressive Class 1 Cell Lock which was designed to meet the demanding requirements of SS317 (A Specification for Locks for Custodial Doors), the new single and double gate locks for perimeter fencing have been undergoing an intensive testing schedule.

Suitable for securing perimeters of facilities such as chemical plants, power plants, gas terminals, oil refineries, utility company perimeters, military bases and other large areas which need to restrict and control access, the new locks can be interfaced with existing access control systems and security devices such as CCTV.

One of the major problem areas which needed to be addressed in the initial design was the issue of corrosion and the new locks offer significantly longer life than anything on the market - offering increased reliability.

In addition, the status of the lock can be monitored from a patrol vehicle 30 - 50 metres away, cutting down on time needed to patrol and check the perimeter is secure.

Pickersgill-Kaye's Business Development Manager for Security and Engineering Products, John Moore said: 'It was vital to develop a reliable solution with an extended life. Because these locks are by their nature in situations open to the elements 365 days a year, they need to be able to resist weather corrosion. '

He added: 'The Pickersgill-Kaye range significantly extends the life of the lock in comparison to anything currently available. It offers additional features making it an easy to use, robust and reliable solution which has been tested and proven to the highest standard.'
