Payne Security Products Acquires BP Labels

Payne Security : 08 March, 2010  (Company News)
Acquisition of BP Secure Solutions and BP Labels provides expanded secure labelling manufacturing capability for Payne's Tear Tape and Security businesses
Payne Security Products Acquires BP Labels
The Coated & Security Products Division of Filtrona (CSP), which includes both Payne Tear Tape and Payne Security, is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of BP Secure Solutions Limited and Summercombe 110 Limited, the holding company of BP Labels Limited (collectively referred to as BP). This represents a significant expansion in the label capability of the division.

BP, based in Cardiff, United Kingdom, is a manufacturer of high quality, creative and secure self adhesive labels for the pharmaceutical, healthcare, cosmetic and food & drink markets, often providing these labels as part of an authentication solution. The business is highly complementary with CSP, sharing a focus on providing consumer products companies with value added packaging and security solutions through maximising the use of technologies, systems and production capabilities.

'The acquisition is consistent with Coated & Security Products vision to be the premier provider of creative and secure packaging, identity and security solutions to our customers and markets of choice', comments Tony Edwards, Divisional Managing Director of CSP.

'We believe we can deliver significant benefits from utilising our existing global commercial and operational footprint to access new markets for BP's products as well as from offering our existing packaging and security products and technologies to BP's current customers.'

'Everyone at BP Labels and BP Secure Solutions is excited about this acquisition', adds Andrew Wood, BP's Managing Director. 'It is clear that the two businesses share a passion for delivering value adding innovation, quality and service to our customers and we very much look forward to developing our label and authentication offering on an international basis.'
