Partnership Provides Advanced Identity Based Network Access Control

Avenda Systems : 24 May, 2011  (Company News)
Avenda Systems and Meraki have formed a partnership for the delivery of advanced network access control covering mobile devices

Avenda Systems has partnered with Meraki to offer customers a cost-effective path for advanced network access policy services. The partnership expands customers’ ability to deploy enterprise-wide context-aware policy services, NAC, and advanced guest access across all access methods.

“The proliferation of tablets, smartphones, and web applications is causing IT departments to look at new infrastructure architectures that deliver increased capacity and security,” said Kiren Sekar, Director of Marketing at Meraki. “We are excited to partner with Avenda to provide     customers with new tools to build these modern, secure enterprise networks.”

Avenda is recognized for delivering the first enterprise-class platform to include identity and device-based access policy services, NAC, AAA functionality, and compliance monitoring capabilities in a single platform which eases integration, maintenance, and cost requirements.

“We’ve found that using Meraki and Avenda for secure 802.1X-capable wireless access gives us a completely flexible solution for managing who is on our network,” said Ken Belau, Director of Information Technology, Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.  “With the increased popularity of mobile devices and WiFi use, the combined solution provides a very efficient way for us to manage who we allow onto the network and what they can access. The best part is that the products work well together, and we were not surprised by expensive add-on components required by other vendors.”

Avenda’s intuitive web-based user interface allows IT organizations to manage, monitor, and troubleshoot user issues from anywhere in the network. Pre-configured templates simplify the deployment and use of 802.1X authentication, and machine and web-based authentication, as well as other advanced methods of authenticating users and devices.

“Meraki’s cloud-based high performance wireless networks and easy-to-use, deployment and management features complement Avenda’s model of easy-to-deploy policy services,” added Trent Fierro, Director of Marketing at Avenda. “Customers today can’t afford to spend an excessive amount of time deploying and maintaining new network services, which makes the ROI from the tools provided by Meraki and Avenda increasingly valuable.”
