Partnership Formed For Single Source Supply of Federal Bio-Detection Equipment

Universal Detection Technology : 03 May, 2010  (Company News)
Emergency 911 Security and Universal Detection Technology for partnership for the supply of Biological Threat Detection equipment to US Federal agencies
Universal Detection Technology has partnered with Emergency 911 Security, a full-service security and EMS contractor. Emergency 911 Security has been certified by the federal government for sole source and limited competition contracts of up to 35.5 million dollars per year in sales.

EMG-911 SEC is among a rare group of government contractors (approximately five percent) awarded a small business determination 8(a), which allows the federal government to sole source contracts. The award is similar to GSA schedules but with a fraction of the competitors.

The SBA 8(a) Business Development Program will allow EMG-911 SEC greater market access and enterprise growth, awarding sole-source and limited-competition contracts over a nine-year period. The NAICS code that EMG-911 SEC is certified under provides sole source contract of up to 35.5 million dollars per year in sales.

"Our partnership with Emergency 911 Security will allow government agencies in defense, EMS and first responder community greater access to UNDT's bioweapons detection equipment," said Jacques Tizabi, CEO of Universal Detection Technology. "We look forward to building our relationship with EMG-911 SEC as they continue on their strategic growth plan aided by their unique government sole source and limited competition contract award," continued Tizabi.

Universal Detection Technology's biological weapon detection equipment is used extensively by first responders and private industry throughout the country. The company's flagship bioweapons detection kits, certified last year by the US Department of Homeland Security as an "Approved Product for Homeland Security," are designed to detect and identify up to five separate threats using one sample in a single, easy-to-use device. The kits equip first responders with an effective tool for the rapid onsite detection of up to five biological warfare agents: anthrax, ricin, botulinum toxin, Y. pestis (plague) and Staphylococcal Enterotoxin B (SEB). Detection time is under three minutes.
