Optex Cuts Installation Time on PIR Detectors

Optex Europe : 17 July, 2012  (New Product)
Simpler for installers, the new SAVER range of detectors from Optex Europe suits the tightest budgets for business security products
Optex Cuts Installation Time on PIR Detectors
Optex has launched a new indoor detector targeted at installers with smaller budgets, but without sacrificing the renowned reliability for detection and minimising false alarms.

The SAVER passive infrared detector cuts down on installation time by eliminating the need to remove the circuit board when mounting the sensor. If removal of the circuit board is needed, a simple clip in/out release mechanism allows easy removal and replacement, eliminating the risk of lost screws.

To further reduce the need for engineer callbacks to a site the SAVER addresses many common issues and offers improved external seals, reducing the incidence of insect egress, digital based filtering and temperature compensation logic. Of course the basic requirement of intruder detection has not been forgotten and the SAVER delivers high catch performance through a dense 156 edge, 78-zone detection pattern which is supported by Optex’s patented Quad technology. The selection of any one of three sensitivity settings completes set up for any environment.

The SAVER is fully compliant with PD6662 -2010 and as with all Optex Grade 2 sensors has the capability to enable or disable the LED, making it suitable for numerous applications including commercial or residential applications.

Paul Nicholas, Divisional Manager for Optex, says: “Installers now have a single device capable of servicing a broad range of applications successfully without breaking even the lowest of budgets. With the launch of the SAVER all businesses and homeowners can benefit from Optex’s proven reputation for trouble free detection. “
