One Click Secure VPN Client

NCP Engineering : 25 June, 2010  (New Product)
Secure Enterprise Client from NCP Engineering improves security for remote workers whilst enabling flexible access to company IT resources using secure VPN
NCP engineering has launched the NCP Secure Enterprise Client. The industry's first one-click VPN software, will enable users to easily provision and configure VPN clients, firewalls and server settings while managing practical network access control functions, certificates and software updates from one central location.

The NCP Secure Enterprise Client does not create vendor lock-in and includes holistic remote access, enabling the enterprise to launch hosted 'managed VPN' services, extend Virtualisation efforts, securely change policy settings on the go.

Simon Ford, International Director at NCP engineering comments: "The popularity of remote working among the enterprise is growing rapidly, with more employees opting to work from multiple locations, across a range of mobile devices and platforms is evolving quickly. The size of this growth is expected to continue, outlined recently in a report by leading analyst firm Gartner that predicted every enterprise employee will have a smart phone by 2014. This is an exciting trend and one that should be embraced, however, it's important to be aware that adopting this more agile approach can also trigger a potential increase in attacks compromising IT networks.

"As the security landscape continues to evolve and reports that there is an attack every 4.5 seconds affecting a computer, ensuring VPNs are secure is imperative in the battle to keep the criminals away from the enterprise network."

The NCP Secure Enterprise Client includes Path Finder technology, which ensures users can establish a secure connection to the corporate network from any remote location. Path Finder technology automatically solves end-users' complex connection issues created by firewall settings preventing IPSec communication, without user intervention. This is a common problem for remote users trying to access the company network from hotels and airports. It also grants full IPSec VPN access and policy enforcement, preventing local network security from being compromised, and ensuring both corporate and public security policies are followed.

The end-user never needs to worry about man-in-the-middle attacks, certificate exchange or device firewall settings, as all of the appropriate settings are pre-set by the network administrator and negotiated automatically within the NCP Secure Enterprise Client itself. The end-user just clicks to safely and quickly connect.

Ford concludes: "Remote access technology too often translates into a jumble of solutions, functionality and policy limitations—creating management headaches for IT staff. Our development team continually pushes to rethink how to integrate existing technologies and put customer requirements first. NCP's enterprise software has solved the complex, network administration process."
