On-Demand Cloud Computing Authentication For Japan

Arcot Systems : 08 April, 2010  (Application Story)
Arcot Systems enters Partnership with Japanese SCS to deliver cloud computing security systems including on-demand authentication to the Japanese market
Arcot Systems and Sumisho Computer Systems Corporation (SCS) have announced a strategic partnership to deliver Arcot A-OK On Demand solutions to the Japanese market. The agreement, which marks Arcot's entry into the fast-growing Japanese market, includes commitments by both companies to deliver sales, marketing, support, training and services to enterprise customers across Japan.

'Japan is the second-largest IT market in the world and our strategic partnership with SCS demonstrates our commitment to deliver cloud-based security solutions to Japanese enterprises,' said Arcot CEO Ram Varadarajan. 'We're pleased to partner with SCS, who design and deliver on-demand authentication and fraud- and risk-management solutions. We believe that partnering with one of the premier IT solutions providers in the country will accelerate new business in Japan for Arcot and SCS.'

Arcot has been offering cloud-authentication services since 2000. Since then, Arcot has helped more than 13,000 organizations globally in support of their strong-authentication and risk-management requirements in the areas of consumer access, employee access and E-commerce. Today, Arcot's cloud-computing services support more than 50 million users worldwide; however, the total number of users reaches nearly 110 million when Arcot's cloud-based and on-premises authentication solutions are combined. Hosted in multiple SAS 70-certified, PCI DSS-compliant data centers, Arcot A-OK services are highly scalable, configurable and multi-tenant efficient. Arcot cloud services eliminate the cost and time involved in installing hardware and software onsite at enterprise locations. Arcot A-OK delivers out-of-the-box authentication solutions for leading SAAS applications such as Google Apps and Salesforce.com.

As part of the partnership with Arcot, SCS will make use of its expertise in delivering a wide range of IT services, SAAS products and solutions to the Japanese market. Founded in 1969, SCS is an IT services provider with 2009 revenues of more than 134 billion Yen ($143.8 million). SCS provides enterprise solutions, engineering solutions, outsourcing services, systems-platform solutions and network-exchange-attached data centre solutions for on-demand computing, and global business network solutions.

'Enterprise customers in Japan are looking for ways to make use of the power and potential of cloud-security solutions for assuring strong security, reducing operating costs and improving time-to-market. We are excited to partner with Arcot, an established leader in cloud security, to deliver strategic value to leading Japanese organizations," said Akira Tsuyuguchi, COO of SCS.

Arcot and SCS have been working together for several months to deliver an integrated solution targeted at the Japanese marketplace. Their efforts have resulted in the creation of a customer demonstration centre in Tokyo and the training of SCS support staff throughout Japan. Arcot and SCS are already engaged in Japan with several major customers in a variety of industries.
