Octavian Launches Into Pharmaceutical Sector

Octavian Security : 01 November, 2010  (Company News)
New Co-Owner of Octavian Security brings her experience of supplying the Pharmaceutical market to the security services supplier
Octavian Launches Into Pharmaceutical Sector
Kavita Oberoi, the owner and founder of Oberoi Consulting, has launched her new security business, Octavian Security, into the pharmaceutical sector.

Kavita, whose Oberoi Consulting business is already a major supplier of IT solutions to the pharma sector, bought into the successful security business at the start of this year and now co-owns it with owner and founder Sukhi Ghuman.

As security is paramount for the sector, Kavita made the decision to buy into the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 business to be able to deliver top end, flexible security and facilities management solutions for existing and future pharma clients.

Already in negotiations with some industry key players, Kavita believes that Octavian Security's bespoke security and facilities management offer is a good fit for the pharma sector.

"There is definitely a constant need for new, more intelligent security solutions of the type that Octavian has developed, implemented and won awards for," explains Kavita.

"Octavian already works for the NHS and in conjunction with Oberoi Consulting is developing support services for social care and pharma sectors."

An example of this is a lone worker support service, which is an inexpensive monitoring and alarm service for healthcare workers, which can be delivered via an easy to download application for BlackBerries. It facilitates GPS tracking and is already in use with one healthcare client, where nurses visit end of life patients at home, whilst being tracked and with a mobile patrol back up. This service is also to be rolled out to certain hospitals and in support of the distribution of medicines in general.

Kavita's new business's service offer will enable the worker and the medicines in transit to be monitored geographically, and even the temperature of the medicines can be monitored if required. This service will also be transferable to asset tracking for hospitals and care homes, where items such as wheelchairs and beds delivered to patients at home can be tagged to prevent loss.

"The new services are being developed and realised as a result of the marriage of practices, philosophies and sector expertise of Octavian and Oberoi Consulting - an outcome that I knew we would experience when I decided on this diversification," concludes Kavita.

Octavian Security is already renowned in the UK security industry for its innovative solutions to client briefs, which have included such schemes as the utilisation of ex-Ghurkha Rifle servicemen at IKEA to eradicate car park crime.
