Range of Siemens products meeting EU and UK standards for intruder alarms are now available from the Norbain catalogue
Norbain Stocks SPC Intruder Detection System From Siemens
Modular design, easy configuration, embedded web server capability, enhanced door management, and full BRE approval are among the key features of the new Siemens SPC intruder detection system, now available through Norbain.

Combining versatility with functionality and effective future proofing, the innovative SPC system builds on the proven technology of the Europlex SigNET system, and encompasses easy migration to allow existing SigNET users to protect their investment.

Undergoing exhaustive independent 3rd party testing, the SPC system meets the requirements of all relevant UK and European standards. Designed with versatility in mind, the SPC intruder alarm system comprises a comprehensive range of products suitable for almost any domestic, commercial or industrial application, with up to 512 alarm inputs. The product range offers an extensive choice of user interface options, including keypads, keyswitches, proximity cards and web browser; voice aided guidance (annunciation) is also available as an option.

The controllers' powerful microprocessors ensure speedy response of alarms and events and also allow multiple users to simultaneously connect to the system.

All SPC interface units use wired connections to the central controller, but detectors can use either wired or wireless connections, allowing maximum flexibility in system planning. The usefulness of the SPC intruder alarm system is further extended by the provision of an advanced door management facility. Access to a building and areas within it can be controlled using reliable Siemens card readers or 3rd party ready readers.

The embedded web server and IP connectivity on all SPC controllers opens up many new options. For example, users can access their security system from a standard PC/PDA/Phone with browser capability (no application software required). 'With the embedded web server, SPC systems can be accessed from any location with an Internet connection,' says Hannah Broadhurst, Business Development Manager for Intruder at Norbain. 'Robust security is provided to prevent abuse by unauthorised persons, and remote interrogation, faultfinding and full remote servicing is also possible via the Internet or IP network.'
