New VP of Sales at Clavister

Ex Fortinet executive joins Clavister senior management team as COO and global vice president of sales
IP-based security and unified threat management (UTM) specialist, Clavister, has appointed Andre Stewart as VP Sales Worldwide and COO. Andre will also become a major shareholder in Clavister.

Andre brings more than 20 years experience in the data communications and network security industry. Most recently Andre was with Fortinet as VP Worldwide for Sales and Support, and VP and MD for EMEA where he was responsible for aggressively growing sales to in excess of $100M.

Peter Johansson, Clavister's CEO said: 'This is an important step in our global growth strategy in which Andre will play a central role. His demonstrable experience in global sales, establishing new sales channels, and in leading and motivating sales teams in a multicultural environment will enable us to move faster and to ensure our journey towards success. He is a welcome and already valued member of the executive management team and I am looking forward to working with him.'

Andre, who will be based in Sophia Antipolis, France, where Clavister is establishing a new office, said: 'Clavister is exactly the type of company I have been looking to invest in. It has been diligently developing great technology for over 10 years. Its existing products are robust and solid and its product roadmap is extremely exciting.

'Clavister will continue to invest in a more experienced management team as well as growing its international sales team. I can see a huge opportunity for Clavister's network security products and my main focus is to grow sales. Clavister is now looking to appoint strong sales teams across EMEA, Asia and the emerging markets and will also create a strong channel. The market will be hearing a lot more about Clavister.'

Clavister has virtual and physical security offerings and has built strategic alliances with technology leaders such as Ericsson, VMware, Kaspersky, D-Link and SAAB Aerotech. Its customer base includes Terremark, bwin, Hamburg Stock Exchange, France Telecom/Orange, Unibase, Danieli, Rogers Wireless, DGC, Africa Online, and China Power.
