New Product of the year award for FireTide

Firetide : 15 October, 2009  (New Product)
The HotPort 7000 from FireTide has been awarded the 2009 New Product of the Year Award from Security Products magazine
Security Products magazine has announced that Firetide's MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) HotPort 7000 is the winner of its 2009 New Product of the Year Award in the category of network-centric security. The announcement was made at the annual ASIS International Seminar and Exhibits in Anaheim, California. The Security Products New Product of the Year Award honors the outstanding product development achievements of security equipment manufacturers.

"Winning this award for our MIMO infrastructure mesh underscores the unique achievement and approaches we have taken with Firetide technology," said Bo Larsson, Firetide CEO. "We have continued to push the envelope of wireless infrastructure mesh technology to better serve the application and economic requirements of our public safety, municipal and industrial customers. With 300 Mbps real-world outdoor throughput, Firetide MIMO infrastructure mesh is unrivaled in the industry."

More than 60 entries were received in the inaugural year of this contest. Ten winners were honored in seven award categories, including access control; accessories; alarm, fire and gas equipment, business continuity; network-centric security; perimeter security; and video security.

In addition to being honored at ASIS, the winners will be featured on the Security Products Web site and highlighted in the December 2009 issue of Security Products magazine. Security Products magazine is distributed to more than 65,000 subscribers monthly as well as at trade events including ASIS.
