New Identicom version with incapacity detection

Bold Communications : 30 August, 2007  (New Product)
Man down functionality adds to versatility of Identicom lone worker protection system.
Bold Communications have been providing protection to lone workers for three years with their popular Identicom system. Simple, yet effective, the Identicom is a personal attack alarm designed as an ID card holder. Used by a variety of workers, from midwives to key holders, the discreet design of the device reduces the risk to the employee of raising an alarm. When worn, Identicom is always within immediate reach of the wearer and, when needed, provides an essential link to help. Now, Bold Communications is proud to present a new Identicom; providing versatility to lone worker protection.

The Identicom i770 with man-down detection provides all the proven benefits of the traditional Identicom device, protecting lone workers from abuse or attack, whilst also incorporating the capability for an alarm to be raised in the case of injury or incapacity of the user. State-of-the-art signal processing technology analyses tilt, immobility and any sudden impacts. Thresholds for these variables are programmable within the software, making the unit easily tailored to the physical demands of a variety of occupations. Unlike other man-down devices, this dual-detection technology greatly reduces false alarms, while the manual panic button means the dual-purpose unit also provides discreet protection against attack.

Brian Kelly, MD at Bold said "This new unit means the Identicom is now more tailored towards protecting a wider range of lone workers. The Man-Down function is something there has been great demand for".
