New hire to lead video incident management drive.

Videoanalytics.org : 09 May, 2007  (Company News)
Image analysis expertise enhances Cernium's drive into user defined content in the video surveillance and analysis market.
Cernium Corporation has announced the appointment of Robert Ingalls to its board of directors. As a seasoned veteran of the communications industry, Mr Ingalls will help shape Cernium's strategy as it expands into the burgeoning market for user-defined video content.

Video analytics software makes it possible to economically and less labour-intensively manage, monitor, transmit, store and retrieve information from video streams, both in real time for event notification and response and after the fact for forensic purposes. From its market-leading technology platform, Cernium is developing a family of products that deliver video-analytics enabled solutions to high-growth markets with specific needs. Cernium's flagship application for facility security, Perceptrak, leads the industry in ease of use and cost effectiveness for complete video incident management systems. Its highly efficient P-Core analytics engine is enabling new products and applications for both traditional security and new generations of networked, video-capable devices.

"Bob's appointment is another important step in Cernium's ongoing strategy to expand the reach of Video Analytics beyond its roots in physical security," said Craig Chambers, president and chief executive officer of Cernium. "His extensive experience innovating within the telecommunications industry and his proven leadership capabilities will provide invaluable guidance to Cernium during this critical growth period."

Mr Ingalls has more than two decades of experience in the telecommunications industry, most recently as executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon. He has also served as president of Verizon's retail markets group where he launched the company's FiOS broadband initiative. Prior to joining Verizon, Mr Ingalls worked with Bell Atlantic and C&P Telephone in various management and leadership positions. He currently serves on the board of directors for American Fibre Systems.
