US Forensic accounting and litigation wing of Kroll to be led by business risk assessment specialist.
Kroll has appointed William Keevan to lead Kroll's Forensic Accounting and Litigation Consulting (FLC) practice in the United States.

"The demand for our FLC services is steadily increasing and we need to be in the best possible position to meet that demand and to take advantage of opportunities as they arise," said Simon Freakley, CEO of Kroll. "Bill will be deploying in key markets the industry's best forensic accounting and litigation consulting practitioners."

After joining Kroll in December 2006, Mr Keevan led the firm's Washington, D.C.-area FLC practice as well as Kroll's Government Contractor Advisory Services business on a national basis.

Kroll's FLC practice serves Kroll clients in the areas of forensic accounting, financial reporting and investigations, regulatory compliance and complex litigation. The group also includes Kroll's government contractor advisory services practice.

The FLC practice has represented clients in matters before the Securities and Exchange Commission, US Department of Justice and numerous other regulatory authorities. Members of Kroll's FLC practice have provided expertise in some of the highest profile accounting-based litigation cases, including two of the largest proceedings brought under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
A recognised leader in his field, Mr Keevan, age 61, previously served as a senior managing director at Navigant Consulting and led the firm's Government Contractor Services Practice. Prior to his position at Navigant Consulting, he spent 28 years with Arthur Andersen, including 20 years as a partner.

He has advised senior management and boards of directors on matters involving financial accounting and reporting, corporate governance, internal controls and business risk assessments and mitigation.

Mr Keevan has extensive experience dealing with regulatory matters including SEC compliance and reporting and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and has helped clients respond to government audit reports, inquiries and other actions including alleged violations of the False Claims Act, Truth in Negotiations Act and FCPA. He also helps companies and their legal counsel quantify damages, evaluate settlement alternatives and prepare for negotiation, arbitration and trial.
