New face recognition products debut at ASIS and BCC

Cross Match Technologies : 23 September, 2009  (New Product)
Cross Match is using the ASIS and BCC events to demonstrate Lookout Collector and Lookout Matcher, two new biometric face recognition applications
Cross Match Technologies, a global provider of biometric identity solutions, is showing its newest facial recognition technology this week. Lookout Collector alongside Lookout Matcher debuts September 21st at the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) seminar in Anaheim, California and at the Biometric Consortium Conference (BCC) opening September 22nd in Tampa, Florida.

Cross Match offers best-in-class, biometric-based identity management solutions, meeting demand for reliable identity verification. With the new facial recognition system, users can quickly identify persons of interest and compare real-time facial images against specified watch lists. Lookout Collector rapidly extracts and captures facial images from video footage and surveillance tapes at up to 25 frames per second. If multiple faces enter the field of vision, it automatically records them. With Lookout Collector, users are assured of receiving the visual information they need efficiently and reliably.

"Lookout Collector is available as a standalone package or in combination with Lookout Matcher," explains Bill Dumont, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales at Cross Match. The Lookout Collector Digital Video recorder connects to the Lookout Matcher server, which locates and extracts facial images from a digital feed. Lookout Matcher maintains a watch list, which contains portrait samples of identified persons. Each facial image that Lookout Matcher receives from a recorder unit is compared against the portrait images on the watch list for automated identity verification. To increase video coverage, multiple Lookout Collector recorders can easily be connected to a Lookout Matcher server over a TCP-IP network. Both Lookout Collector and Lookout Matcher software packages are shrink-wrapped solutions that run on a Windows-based server platform.

"We opted to launch our solution this week during ASIS and BCC, as they are important biometric, identity and security events," notes Dumont. "Recognized by national standards and security agencies, the events are well attended by those seeking next-generation security technology. This will place us in front of our target audience, as Lookout Collector is currently used by forward-looking transportation, gaming, law enforcement and commercial security organizations."
