New EMEA sales director at Sunbelt

Sunbelt Software hires experienced channel development professional to run its EMEA Sales Operations
Sunbelt Software has appointed David Parkin as Sales Director EMEA. Parkin will be responsible for developing the company's go-to-market strategy across its enterprise and consumer security products, as well as expanding the Sunbelt Software channel programme. He will also be responsible for Sunbelt's customer service and satisfaction activities, helping to drive adoption and strengthen the company's position in the antivirus and anti-malware markets.

Parkin brings a wealth of experience to Sunbelt which he will use to develop the company's enterprise security channel programme. As part of this, he will engage and recruit resellers as well as run end-user marketing activities to drive awareness of Sunbelt within the market. Sunbelt launched its Vipre Enterprise antivirus and antispyware solution in February 2009, bringing next-generation performance and protection to UK customers. Built from the ground up to meet the requirements of today's malware, Vipre Enterprise is already being used by organisations that have switched their AV solution for better speed and security.

"The enterprise security market continues to be a fast-moving, dynamic environment, and Sunbelt's entry into the UK comes at an interesting time," commented Parkin. "I see that Sunbelt has a great opportunity to shake up the antivirus industry, taking on the established vendors in this space by offering better performance and more cost-effective approaches. I'm looking forward to expanding the UK enterprise channel for Sunbelt, as well as growing the company's footprint across Europe in the long term."

Parkin joins Sunbelt from BakBone Software, where he was Northern European Sales Director and responsible for corporate and channel sales in the UK, Benelux and Nordic regions. Previously, he spent over eight years with Symantec running the company's sales and channel activities.
