New CIO at PGP to drive global IT systems

PGP (GB) : 11 June, 2008  (Company News)
Experienced industry expert joins PGP as Chief Information Officer for the development of strategic IT resources in the company
PGP Corporation has announced that Steven Soderberg has joined the company as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Soderberg, 47, will be responsible for driving all of PGP Corporation's global IS/IT systems including voice/data networks, desktop and server support, business application systems and messaging technologies.

Soderberg, who has over twenty years of information technology experience, joins PGP Corporation from Otis Spunkmeyer where he served for 3 years as CIO. While at Otis Spunkmeyer, Soderberg led the creation of a centralised server and storage architecture, prepared the IT function for public company reporting and SOX compliance, and architected the 'next generation' ERP solution.

Prior to Otis Spunkmeyer, Soderberg served for 8 years as Senior Vice President and CIO for The Robert Mondavi Company were he was the architect of WIM (Wine Information Management)—now viewed as the wine industry standard vertical software solution. He has received Content Week's Intranet Best in Class award as well as a CIO Magazine Web Business Top 50 award for his implementation of 'Connect'—the Mondavi intranet/extranet platform.

Before Mondavi, he was responsible for worldwide systems development and support at Symantec Corporation.

"Steven is a strategic addition to our senior management and Informatics teams," said Phillip Dunkelberger, president and CEO of PGP Corporation. "He is an accomplished CIO with the unique background, technical knowledge and commitment to operational excellence that is essential as PGP Corporation continues to expand our operations on a global scale."

"PGP Corporation has set the bar high for providing cutting edge security solutions for their customers, and I am honoured to join such a forward thinking company," noted Soderberg. "I am thrilled to be working with this innovative and motivated team."
