Network and data forensic capability now available from AccessData

AccessData : 07 August, 2008  (New Product)
Real time data capture across networks coupled with content and pattern analysis enable companies to carry out computer forensic activities
AccessData is proud to announce the addition of network forensics capabilities to its product portfolio. Utilising technology that has been on the market for well over a decade, AccessData now offers network forensics that are second to none. With powerful analytics, full packet capture and reassembly, an easy-to-use interface, and the ability to visualize network traffic, the new offering gives investigators a view into their network that no other product can. By combining these new capabilities with AccessData's portfolio of market-leading, host-based digital investigation products, AccessData has introduced a new paradigm in forensic investigation, in which an organization can get a complete 360-degree forensic view of their data from a single vendor. No longer is the investigator forced to deduce what occurred using only a portion of the available data. With powerful analytic capabilities and a complete view of all the data, investigators are now able to quickly track down the most powerful and insidious incidents perpetrated by malicious insiders and skilled hackers.

"For the last year, we have aggressively evaluated countless network forensic solutions but only one had the power and flexibility needed to meet the challenges of our law enforcement, government and corporate customers. Over the coming months, as we integrate this technology into the product portfolio, we believe the value of a single digital forensics console that delivers a comprehensive view of all data will become immediately apparent. The concept of a forensics tool belt will never disappear, but having a single solution that gets you 90% of the way home will radically improve the efficiency of investigations," said Tim Leehealey, CEO of AccessData.

Key features now available include:

* Real-Time Network Data Capture: The solution monitors more than 1,500 protocols and services out of the box and records network activity in real time into a central database that can be queried.
* Advanced Visualization: The solution generates interactive graphical representations of the series of events representing the propagation of an attack or other suspicious activity.
* Pattern Analysis: Quickly distinguish truly malicious incidents and determine the root cause by identifying network usage patterns and building "integrated maps" of assets or users.
* Content Analysis: Determine how proprietary or inappropriate information proliferated from code servers, HR or financial databases, R&D labs and others.
* On-Demand Incident Playback: Quickly associate the communicators based on addresses, domains, protocols, users, hardware vendors and more.
