NetWay power over Ethernet for IP surveillance

Altronix : 01 April, 2009  (New Product)
Altronix has launched NetWay for providing power over Ethernet for IP surveillance network cameras
Altronix's new NetWay mid-span PoE solution lets you maximize your investment in IP Video surveillance. NetWay delivers greater functionality and efficiency for IP Video systems in 8 and 16 port configurations that accommodate both PoE and conventional IP cameras - including networked PTZs. With reliable and consistent power designed for standard network infrastructure, the new NetWay line-up also includes a single-port midspan injector, a repeater to extend the range an additional 100m (328 feet), and 15 and 30-watt adapters for conventional fixed or PTZ cameras.

"Altronix is known for adapting our field-proven power supply expertise to specific applications and for supplying products that are designed to target precise market needs," said Alan Forman, President, Altronix Corporation. "IP video surveillance cameras do not need individual localized power sources with our innovative NetWay products by supplying power from a centralized rack to IP camera on network infrastructure."

The NetWay8 midspan PoE product provides eight PoE-compliant camera ports, rated at 15.4W maximum (compliant with IEEE 802.3af). Two of the ports are selectable for 30W to accommodate high-current PTZ IP cameras (using the NetWay3012 adapter for each camera port). Easy plug-and-play installation enables safe and cost-effective power distribution over Cat5/5E/6 LAN infrastructures.

The NetWay16 midspan PoE product provides 16 PoE-compliant ports at 15.4W maximum (IEEE 802.3af), with four ports selectable to 30W using the NetWay3012 adapter. Contained in a 1U rack-mount chassis, NetWay16 also includes an illuminated master power switch, 115vAC input and an IEC 320 three-wire grounded detachable line cord.

The NetWay1 single port midspan injector offers a single PoE-compliant camera port and PoE shutdown option. The NetWayXT repeater extends Ethernet range an additional 100m (328 feet). The NetWay1512 adapter enables compatibility with non-PoE compliant cameras, and the NetWay3012 adapter supplies 30W to accommodate high-current IP cameras, including PTZs.

"Video surveillance is operating more than ever in a networked world, and Altronix has the innovative solutions to power the network," continued Mr Forman. "The technology is engineered to deliver a reliable, cost-effective and performance-enhancing solution backed by Altronix's world-renowned reputation and commitment to quality."
