NASA protective services contract reached with Intergraph

Intergraph : 06 June, 2008  (Application Story)
Intergraph to work with NASA on Coastal International Security project
Intergraph will provide Information Technology/Information Assurance (IT/IA) and cyber services, as well as its integrated security solutions to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in support of the agency's consolidated protective services contract. NASA will work with Intergraph as part of a team led by Coastal International Security (Coastal), a wholly owned subsidiary of Akal Security.

The contract allows for the implementation of agency-wide fire and security services, emergency management, export control, protective services information assurance/technology security and protective services training at 14 locations throughout the United States.

Intergraph will also provide continuous process improvement in all areas of this contract to reduce ongoing operational and maintenance cost. In addition, Intergraph will provide support for all electronic security systems and will implement a Centre of Excellence around its integrated security product suite and consulting services.

"We are extremely honoured to have won such an important and prestigious contract," said Curtis Wrenn, president of Coastal. "Intergraph is a leader in integrated security solutions and consulting services, and by partnering with them in support of this contract, we are able to present NASA with the depth and breadth of capabilities that they demand in order to advance safety and security efforts."

"Intergraph has enjoyed a rich history with NASA dating back to the early 1970s and we have a deep understanding of the agency and its unique security requirements," said Brigadier General Jack Pellicci, general manager of the Intergraph Federal, Security and Intelligence business unit. "We are honoured to partner with Coastal to support NASA's security efforts. We are confident that our information assurance and technology capabilities, combined with our domain expertise in integrated electronic security systems, will provide many efficiencies throughout the life of this contract, ultimately advancing security and safety at all NASA installations."

The NASA protective services contract is an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with an ordering period of five years and a maximum value of $650 million. Additionally, the contract contains five one-year ordering options, each with a not-to-exceed value of $130 million. The contract also includes an option to increase the maximum value by 20 percent.
