Multi-threat detection added to Verizon UTM

Fortinet : 29 May, 2008  (Application Story)
FortiGate consolidated network security appliance chosen by Verizon to complement its Unified Threat Management offering
Fortinet has announced that Verizon Business has added Fortinet's FortiGate security appliances to its unified threat management offerings. Available immediately in the United States, as well as in many countries in Europe and Asia-Pacific, Verizon Business will offer security monitoring and management services of this leading all-in-one device.

"Working with Fortinet, Verizon Business is giving customers an all-in-one solution that eases the burden associated with managing the complex security risks of the extended enterprise," said Kerry Bailey, vice president of Verizon Business Security Solutions. "In our pursuit to provide customers with excellent technologies to meet their specific needs, we are pleased to include Fortinet in our line-up for unified threat management."

Fortinet's FortiGate multi-threat security systems offers broad security services to mid-sized and large enterprise customers looking to secure their networks through an integrated and outsourced approach. It enables customers to consolidate critical network security functionalities into a single, high-performance appliance that provides firewall, antivirus, anti-spam, virtual private network (VPN), Web content filtering and intrusion prevention (IPS) protection.

"We are very pleased that the Fortinet platform is now a part of Verizon Business' unified threat management offering," said Karl Soderlund, vice president of Americas sales and business development for Fortinet. "An integrated approach to network security provides customers with a myriad of advantages, especially with today's distributed, global workforce. Together, Verizon Business and Fortinet create a very powerful approach to unified threat management."

Fortinet provides ASIC-accelerated security appliances, which are used by enterprises and service providers to enhance and consolidate their security needs while reducing total operating costs. Fortinet solutions were built from the ground up to integrate multiple levels of security protection - including firewall, antivirus, intrusion prevention, VPN, Web filtering, spyware prevention and anti-spam - designed to help customers protect against network and content level threats. Delivered via its flagship FortiGate family of appliances, Fortinet provides a flexible and extensible platform of security applications and services that enable customers to deploy and centrally manage the same comprehensive level of protection at remote locations as they have for headquarters and data centre environments.
