Daon has released the latest version of IdentityX, the mobile platform that significantly decreases the risk of unauthorized transactions protecting consumers and businesses against on-line fraud and hacking.
Launched in 2010, IdentityX enables people and organizations to be assured of the identity of the individuals with whom they are interacting. IdentityX is an innovative, patented technology that provides the ability to fuse many identity attributes; something you have (mobile phone), something you know (PIN), something you are (multiple biometrics, eg, face, voice, palm) and where you are (GPS location).
“As we’ve seen in recent days, the global threat of identity theft, phishing attacks and cybercrime is growing,” said Tom Grissen, CEO of Daon. “With the latest major security breaches, the IdentityX enhancement becomes even more important as it creates a more accessible platform for consumers and businesses. The IdentityX platform now supports a new, patent-pending palm print recognition capability that enables users to quickly and easily take a picture of their palm to prove who they are and therefore, protect their identity.”
In addition, this latest version of IdentityX provides a software development framework for mobile devices that enables third-party application developers to build fully functioning mobile apps that use IdentityX to protect the identity of their customers.
“With businesses racing to the market to deliver digital payment services for both consumers and merchants, a market projected to be well in excess of $1 trillion, people will need to have simple trust in one another and transact business with convenience and security,” Grissen said.
That’s exactly what IdentityX does. IdentityX empowers users to manage transactions based on the level of risk (eg lower security requirements for lower-value transactions and more sophisticated security for more sensitive digital interactions). For the first time, security/privacy and customer convenience are no longer a trade-off.
IdentityX is available on leading mobile devices. Platform support for the framework includes iPhone/iPad, Blackberry and Android. Windows Phone 7 will be available shortly.
