MSNBC Sports Web site compromised with malicious code.

Forcepoint : 19 March, 2008  (New Product)
Websense discovers the official Web site of MSNBC Sports has been compromised with malicious code.
The same attack has compromised dozens of other high-profile sites such as ZDNet, archive.org, wired.com, and history.com.

MSNBC Sports is not the first major sports site that has been compromised. For example, in February 2007, Websense discovered that the official Web site of the Dolphin Stadium, host to the Super Bowl at the time, was compromised with malicious code intended to steal private information.

Considering this week kicked off March Madness, companies and users should beware of these threats and use Web security software and proper employee education to protect confidential data from threats.

In January 2008, Websense released a new report that revealed that - for the first time - the number of legitimate Web sites compromised by attackers has surpassed those purposefully created by attackers.
