Micro-P joins UK Sony distribution network

Sony Europe, ISS Division : 28 July, 2009  (Company News)
Sony has chosen UK based Micro-P for the distribution of its IP video security products in the region
Sony Professional, a division of Sony United Kingdom Limited, has bolstered the availability of its expert security offering by announcing that Micro-P, one of the UK's leading technology distributors, has joined its distributor network. Building upon an already strong distribution platform, Micro-P will provide customers with expert insight on Sony's product range and provide on the ground support for its customer base.

The agreement positions Micro-P as a key distributor who will be able to offer its customers access to Sony's cutting edge IP solutions, such as the PTZ camera which debuted at IFSEC earlier this year. Sony's decision to work with Micro-P is testimony to demand for the company's products in the video security market.

"With a specialist understanding of the IP market and fantastic experience in delivering security solutions, our agreement with Micro-P marries first rate video security expertise with quality products and will benefit a lot of UK companies, says Mike Cole, UK and Ireland Sales Manager for Video Security at Sony Professional.

Sony's intelligent video security is built on the Distributed Enhanced Processing Architecture (DEPA), which distributes image processing across an IP network on multiple low-cost processors. Resulting in a security solution that is more flexible, scalable and economical, this advanced technology can be manipulated to cater for the most diverse of security requirements.

Rod Slater, Business Manager at Micro-P comments, "Working with Sony is a real coup for us as they are at the forefront of innovation within the video security space. Sony's intelligent DEPA technology is unique within the industry and we are excited to be able to offer our customers this best-of-breed technology, which has the potential to radically transform the way companies approach video security."
