MFT Maturity Model Helps In Understanding Managed File Transfer Options

Ipswitch : 15 February, 2011  (New Product)
Ipswitch has released a free assessment resource, the Managed File Transfer Maturity Model to assist in assessing options available for managing file transfers in a secure fashion
Ipswitch File Transfer has announced the availability of its MFT Maturity Model. The MFT Maturity Model is a free online resource designed to help IT professionals navigate the growing number of options in the market to determine the right MFT technology solution to match their project’s maturity level.

“The MFT space has grown exponentially over the past year, making it more challenging for industry professionals to find and select the right MFT solutions that meet their business requirements,” said Thomas Skybakmoen, Senior Research Analyst at Gartner. “When used in conjunction with research from leading analyst firms, a well-defined maturity model provides insight for companies looking to understand their buying criteria, technology solutions and vendors.”

Selecting technology that meets stringent compliance and corporate requirements can be complicated and challenging. The MFT Maturity Model is designed to streamline the solution selection process by providing IT professionals with a single, reliable source they can use to drill down through a series of typical requirements that will help:

* Evaluate their current file transfer environment by examining FT frequency, challenges and future needs.

* Define technology needs by understanding their project’s compliance, security and visibility requirements and overall sophistication.

* Select technology solutions that meet the predetermined requirements.

“Moving files is easy,” said Frank Kenney, VP of Global Strategy at Ipswitch File Transfer.  “Companies that need control, visibility, compliance and security require a more sophisticated, holistic MFT-based integration solution that can take data from the edge of the firewall, guard and govern it through all of the key processes so that it reaches its destination safely.”
