Mega attends BSI risk management event

MEGA International : 17 October, 2008  (Company News)
Workshop covering British Standard on risk management to be attended by Mega
Mega will be participating on day one of a Risk Management conference and workshop being organised by BSI British Standards.

The BSI event is being held to explain how the first and soon-to-be-released British Standard to specifically address risk management, BS 31100, will help public and private sector organisations improve Risk Management strategies and processes. MEGA's GRC software suite, which already incorporates many recognised industry standards, will duly integrate BS 31100. At the event, the company will occupy a vendors booth which will complement the conference.

Taking place on October 22-23, 2008, at the America Square Conference Centre, 1 America Square, 17 Crosswall, London EC3N 2LD, the BSI Risk Management event will comprise the conference on day one, followed by workshops on day two, all designed to impart knowledge, stimulate ideas and provide delegates with a chance to network, talk to peers and compare experiences.

The event is aimed at 'C' level executives; chairmen and company secretaries; managing, IT and finance directors; risk, insurance, claims and business continuity managers; information security specialists; underwriters; health and safety officers; and heads of legal affairs.

BS 31100 is a highly topical and important standard designed to help private and public sector organisations understand, develop, implement, and maintain appropriate and effective Risk Management principles and practice. It provides recommendations for a framework, related processes, and implementation of risk management. Using the standard will increase the potential to achieve the successful achievement of Risk Management objectives and improve business performance.

"MEGA will exhibit at this event because we fully support the British Standards initiative," said Ludovic Relandeau, Vice President, UK Operations, MEGA. "Standards are absolutely essential, especially in relation to risk management. The BSI is a world leader in setting high quality standards. This event brings together a number of recognised experts able to share their knowledge based on market research and pragmatic case studies. The initiative will help move forward the attainment of better standards and best practice, in step with current concerns, particularly in the financial services sector."
