Manned security protection option for SoloProtect users

Connexion2 : 09 January, 2008  (New Product)
Optional protection levels provided by manned security services are available on a pay per use basis to users of SoloProtect lone worker protection.
In high-risk environments, lone workers would be far safer if accompanied by a trained, uniformed security officer or be able to call upon an officer trained in conflict resolution. Now SoloProtect, the best-of-breed protection service for lone workers, has partnered with Reliance Patrol Net Services to introduce a range of Active Personnel Protection Services (APPS) to improve the level of security provided to lone workers.

Available in a choice of three service levels, customers can sign up to APPS on a pay-per-use basis to provide access to manned security support when and where it is needed. Level one provides immediate reactive response in the event of a red alert from an Identicom lone worker device to SoloProtect's monitoring centre. Level two enables companies to call upon a trained security officer to escort a lone worker with less than four hours notice whilst level four provides for a planned escorted visit giving more than four hours notice.

When visiting a client, a lone worker's risk level may increase to a point where they would want a second person to support them yet the situation may not warrant calling the Police. SoloProtect's monitoring centre can determine the appropriate response from the audio link, when a red alert is raised on their Identicom lone worker device. In UK urban areas there will be at least two response vehicles on call 24/7 and more in major conurbations delivering an average response time of 31 minutes.

Should a company or organisation feel that their lone worker needs the additional support of a SoloProtect APPS officer, the officer can either meet the lone worker at the location or collect them and transport them to the locality. They will accompany them for the duration of the visit or until such time as the worker no longer feels at risk. Escorted visits may also be reactive if the company or organisation gives less than four hours notice e.g. to support a night call-out for a council officer to a problem area.

APPS officers have comprehensive training including conflict resolution and first aid. The full time officers are rigorously screened including Police National Computer (PNC) check and individual licensing by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). They report to a dedicated command and control management, which in turn is accredited to the high industry standards.

Police support does not always extend to situations where a lone worker might require the reassurance or support of a uniformed officer. In addition, an organisation may find it difficult to engage with the Police and request their attendance at a time best suited to them and the client being visited.

SoloProtect's new APPS provide an additional support to lone workers. The service is not a substitute for the Police, who will still be called as appropriate. APPS officers adhere to traffic regulations and have the same level of access to property as any other member of the public.
